Knoll House is ideally situated on the outskirts of Malmesbury, England's oldest borough, and on the southern edge of the Cotswolds. Malmesbury has an imposing Norman abbey. King Athelstan, the first king of all England made Malmesbury his capital in AD925. Abraham Lincoln's mother lived in the area, as did George Washington's family. Today Prince Charles and Princess Anne live nearby at Highgrove and Gatcombe Park respectively.
Now privately owned the hotel has been extensively refurbished to provide a high standard of accommodation, whilst preserving the period features of many of the rooms.
