0871 716 1928. Ballygrant Inn & Restaurant is situated close to the village of Ballygrant, just 3 miles from Port Askaig Ferry Terminal. The Inn sits just off the main road in its own well tended grounds of 2.5 acres, enclosed by heather clad hills and overlooking woodlands. Bunnahabhain and Caol Ila Distilleries are nearby for the malt whisky enthusiast. There are 7 freshwater hill lochs within the area for those into brown trout fishing and opportunities for walking abound. The important archaeological site of Finlaggan, where the Lords of the Isles ruled the western seaboard of Scotland for some 500 years, is nearby. Dun Bhoraraig, Islay's only Iron age broch overlooks the Sound of Islay and surrounding hill and farmland of the Ballygrant area and is an invigorating walk from the Inn.
